Dr. Zhiqing Cheng has attend the Advanced Development for Security Applications (ADSA) Workshop 21 in Northeast University from November 5-6, 2019. The workshop was organized by Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats (ALERT) program which is supported by the S&T of DHS. Innovision is working on a SBIR Phase I project entitled “Passenger and Baggage Simulation for Synthetic Image Generation (PASSIG)”, which is sponsored by the S&T of DHS. In this project, Innovision is develop a software tool for automatically creating passenger and baggage models, which in turn can be used to generating synthetic X-ray images of baggage and synthetic millimeter wave images of passengers. The synthetic images will be combined with rare real-world images to training deep learning-based auto threat detection algorithms to increase efficiency and effectiveness of airport security screening. The technical information obtained from the workshop will help Innovision to develop innovative and effective solutions for the PASSIG to meet the challenging needs of airport security.
